Frequently Asked Questions

Is Polymarket legal where I live?▼

Polymarket is available in most countries except the United States. Check your local regulations regarding prediction markets and online betting before participating.

How do Polymarket odds map to probabilities?▼

Polymarket prices are displayed as percentages (0-100%). A market trading at 65% means the crowd believes there's a 65% chance of that outcome occurring. You can buy shares at the current price and sell them later if the probability changes.

What currency does Polymarket use?▼

Polymarket uses USDC (USD Coin), a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar. You'll need to fund your wallet with USDC to start trading. Each share costs the displayed percentage in USDC (e.g., a 65% share costs $0.65).

How do I cash out or close a position?▼

You can sell your shares at any time at the current market price. If you hold shares until the market resolves, winning shares pay out $1 each in USDC. You can then withdraw your USDC to your wallet or exchange.
